Responsibilities

The Director of Accounting and Financial Reporting will function as the property's strategic financial business leader.

 
Examples of Duties, includes but is not limited to the following: 
  • Participate in the provision of effective strategic, financial and human resources planning and information.
  • Research, prepare and submit the annual budget
  • Prepare detailed reports
  • Provide comptrollership functions in order to ensure finances are managed according to legislation, policies and procedures and generally accepted accounting principles
  • Provide financial and accounting advice, direction and leadership
  • Responsible for overseeing the General Accounting and Financial Reporting functions and the financial services area including Credit, A/R and A/P
  • Responsible for implementing and maintaining a system of internal controls that will ensure that company assets are adequately safeguarded and that all financial reporting is prepared in compliance with all financial policies, and governmental requirements
  • Perform other duties as required
  • Oversee audits, (401k, external audit, condo, etc.)
  • Oversee treasury management, Tax.
  • Responsible for Capital expenditure and reimbursement

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of accounting concepts, practices, and objectives.

  • Current knowledge with regulations at the federal, state, and local levels.

  • Keep abreast of financial and accounting principles to include reporting and GAAP disclosure (CPA or MBA a plus).

  • Ability to read, write, and understand English.

  • Excellent planning and communication skills.

  • Ability to exercise sound judgment and independent decision making skills.

  • Strong analytical and organizational skills.

  • Takes initiative and has high expectations of self and team.

  • Ability to utilize spreadsheet and presentation software.

  • Knowledge, understanding, and compliance of policies and procedures, job descriptions, daily memorandums, and other instructions.

  • Bachelor's degree with concentration in finance or accounting, or business with strong accounting skills required
