Opened in 1954 and designed by Morris Lapidus, it was the most luxurious hotel on Miami Beach, and is thought to be the most significant building of Lapidus' career.

Responsibilities

The Human Resources Manager, Employee & Labor Relations will support the Executive Director of Labor Relations in matters such as investigations, counseling, and disciplinary actions. This role will also offer balanced advocacy to management and Team Members and facilitate a positive work environment.

 
Examples of Duties, includes but is not limited to the following: 
  1. Conducts research and prepares any necessary documents and reports pertaining to any employee-related matter and legal requests. Partners with management, payroll and HR team to ensure accuracy of information.
  2. Assists Managers in implementing, upholding and ensuring consistency in all Human Resources policies and procedures.
  3. Consults supervisors/managers and Team Members on all aspects of employee-related issues, including manager/employee issues, policies and procedures, misconducts, and investigations.
  4. Coordinates and conducts exit interviews/surveys and Team Member consultations.
  5. Facilitates trainings related to Labor Relations.
  6. Advises and responds to inquiries on policies, procedures, and programs ensuring compliance with Fontainebleau policies, the Collective Bargaining Agreement, and all applicable laws and regulations. Practices integrity and sound discretion and escalates matters to management as necessary.
  7. Processes terminations and misconducts into HRIS with a focus on accuracy.
  8. Directly updates unemployment claims and prepares for upcoming hearings.
  9. Maintains logs for tracking Labor Relations activity, including grievances, separation reports and EEO charges and prepares reports for Executive review.
  10. Accepts ownership for accomplishing new requests; exploring opportunities to add value to the HR Team and Fontainebleau as a whole.
  11. Works with and processes requests for information from Legal Department.
  12. Performs administrative duties to include answering phones, scanning, copying, faxing.
  13. Performs all other related human resources duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Ability to exercise sound judgment and make decisions in a manner consistent with the essential job functions of Human Resources.  Must have knowledge of the principles and practices of Human Resource Management.   
  • This position requires the ability to maintain confidentiality in all employee related matters.
  • Have the ability to research and analyze various different types of data information.
  • Have the ability to organize and prioritize work in order to multi-task efficiently.
  • Have professional acumen. Be thorough and takes initiative; is a self-starter.
  • Be diligent.
  • Be flexible.
  • Possession of a Bachelor's Degree, preferably in Human Resources Management or related field preferred, or equivalent on the job experience.
  • 5+ years of experience at a human resources management or generalist level with emphasis on labor relations Previous contract negotiation experience a plus.
  • PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP a plus.
