Opened in 1954 and designed by Morris Lapidus, it was the most luxurious hotel on Miami Beach, and is thought to be the most significant building of Lapidus' career.

Responsibilities

The Housekeeping Manager assumes primary responsibility for guest room cleaning and servicing of assigned areas. Assist the Executive Housekeeper as required.

 

Examples of Duties include but are not limited to the following: 
  1. Organize personnel into housekeeping crews capable of cleaning all guest rooms and other appropriate spaces.
  2. Ensure the proper and systematic reporting of work completed when appropriate
  3. Ensure the orderly flow of information to and from the assigned personnel.
  4. Monitor and coordinate Preventative Maintenance Projects 
  5. Coordinate with other departments i.e. Engineering to complete goals.
  6. Monitor performance of subordinate managers and supervisors and provide a weekly feedback
  7. Implement training and re-training.
  8. Execute incentive programs based on productivity and inspections
  9. Work with union guidelines to ensure effectiveness in the system.
  10. Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Well organized and demonstrated strong problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff and guests. 
  • Bilingual is highly desirable.
  • Previous relevant experience preferred. One year of supervisory experience is preferred.
  • High school education or equivalent. 
  • Flexible schedule.
