Opened in 1954 and designed by Morris Lapidus, it was the most luxurious hotel on Miami Beach, and is thought to be the most significant building of Lapidus' career.

Responsibilities

The Assistant General Manager supports the overall leadership and operational oversight of the nightclub, ensuring an elevated guest experience, seamless service execution, and adherence to all financial, labor, and quality standards. In partnership with the General Manager, the AGM drives team performance, operational efficiency, and cultural excellence while maintaining a high-energy, luxury nightlife atmosphere.

 

This role requires a hands-on, service-forward leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment and embodies Fontainebleau’s commitment to world-class hospitality.

 
Examples of Duties, includes but is not limited to the following: 

Operational Leadership & Service Excellence

  • Assist the General Manager in the daily execution of nightclub operations, ensuring an exceptional guest experience and alignment with brand standards.
  • Oversee floor operations, service flow, VIP service standards, bottle service management, and table allocations to maximize revenue and guest satisfaction.
  • Maintain strong visibility on the floor to coach staff, resolve issues, and support high-profile or VIP interactions.
  • Ensure operational readiness, including venue setup, staff briefings, service station organization, and end-of-night closeout procedures.

Financial & Business Performance

  • Support the monitoring and management of P&L components, labor controls, and revenue optimization.
  • Review nightly, weekly, and monthly reports to identify trends, address gaps, and support forecasting and planning.
  • Oversee compliance with money-handling, check auditing, inventory controls, and F&B revenue procedures. 

People Leadership & Talent Development

  • Supervise, train, coach, and mentor team members to support performance, engagement, and professional growth.
  • Participate in recruitment, hiring decisions, onboarding, and performance evaluations.
  • Promote a positive and collaborative team environment that reflects the culture of LIV and Fontainebleau.
  • Ensure all team members adhere to company policies, service standards, and safety protocols.

Guest Relations & Issue Resolution

  • Resolve guest concerns quickly and professionally, always seeking opportunities for service recovery.
  • Foster exceptional relationships with key clientele, VIP hosts, talent management, and partners.
  • Maintain a consistent presence during peak hours to support service flow and anticipate needs.

Administrative & Compliance Responsibilities

  • Assist with scheduling, payroll support, staffing plans, supply orders, and operational documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable liquor laws, labor regulations, health codes, and internal policies.
  • Support planning and execution of special events, talent nights, promotional activations, and private buyouts. 

Other Duties

  • Perform additional responsibilities as required to support the nightclub and overall F&B division.

Qualifications

  • Strong understanding of nightclub operations, VIP service dynamics, beverage programs, inventory, and cost controls.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, conflict resolution, and delegation skills.
  • Ability to make sound decisions in a fast-paced, high-volume nightlife environment.
  • Working knowledge of POS systems, back-office reporting, and Microsoft Office.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with high emotional intelligence, professionalism, and integrity.
  • High school diploma required; college degree preferred.
  • Minimum 3+ years of recent nightclub or high-volume entertainment venue management experience.
  • Experience managing bottle service programs, large event nights, and VIP clientele strongly preferred.
  • Food Safety and TIPS certifications required.
