Opened in 1954 and designed by Morris Lapidus, it was the most luxurious hotel on Miami Beach, and is thought to be the most significant building of Lapidus' career.

Responsibilities

Responsible for the overall operation of the Company's security programs.  Provide a safe and secure hotel environment for all guests and employees through effective management of security personnel.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Recommend and administer security functions, policies, and procedures.
  • Oversee investigations and monitor all initial security reports.
  • Develop, monitor, and enforce property security policies, processes, and procedures.
  • Responsible for the recruitment, training, scheduling, supervision, and performance of property security personnel.
  • Ensure department compliance with Fontainebleau Miami Beach policies, procedures, and programs.
  • Schedule labor force and assign work for efficient use of equipment and personnel.
  • Maintain a working relationship with local, municipal, and governmental law enforcement agencies, insurance carriers, etc.
  • Prepare and oversee the department's financial goals.

 

Qualifications

 

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE

  • Advanced knowledge of security concepts, principles, practices, and procedures.
  • Thorough knowledge of state and federal laws.
  • Ability to read, write, and understand English.
  • Well organized and demonstrated strong problem-solving skills.
  • Effective leadership, supervisory, and management skills. Budgeting and analytical skills. 
  • Ability to communicate effectively and establish and maintain effective working relationships with clients, management, and staff.

 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • High school education or equivalent.
  • College course work in criminology preferred.
  • Minimum five years security, military, or police management experience preferred.
  • Minimum of two years’ supervisory experience preferred.
  • Certified CPR, First Aid, and AED instructor training preferred.

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT
Work is performed in an office environment; and the ability to tolerate varying conditions of noise level, temperature, illumination, and air quality.  Varied hours of work schedules required.

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Requires mobility.  Prolonged standing and sitting.  Eye/hand coordination and manual dexterity.  Ability to distinguish letters, symbols, and colors.  Normal vision and hearing range.
